new hair
well I promised you that in my last post I would upload some new hair pictures and I am obsessed with my hair. I needed a change and to do something about these hideous roots in my hair. So I decided I would go back to the melt and get a much needed trim that hasn't happened in two years (yeah my hair just doesn't grow.) So for my pregnant and Mormon wives Old navy is having the best sale ever!! Normally I can't really find much that I like when I go in there but there maternity section is a must!! Since the baby is due in August I am planning on living in maxi's and my swim suit. Anyways old navy has the best summer section for both maternity and just being a modest wife. There shorts are to die for that are knee length and they have thin but way cute shirts so we won't die in the heat with all the layers we get to wear. This army green dress I am wearing is so thin and it hasn't even shrunk not to mention I got it for 15 dollars. Also i've bought a huge portion of my clothing from target lately they have really cute modest shirts and dresses. They don't have any shorts that I could wear but I was pretty impressed with there selection. If any of you have any suggestions where I can get more clothes let me know I sure would love to know. I also as you can tell have made it a lot easier to follow my blog and find me on my instagram like a lot of you have requested so go follow me so see more of my life.

make over
Travis bought me photoshop back in december for christmas and it's been something i've only used for my photos and such but I wanted to try something new and create my first ever header. I have decided that though my blog might look new bish like so I figured i'd give it a try to make over my blog and just slowly learn from here. However, I have made it a little easier to be able to follow my blog and also my +instagram kenkendene so you can follow me there as well. I thought maybe this post would be cooler when I started but I guess its not as cool as I thought it would be. But I did color my hair and will post tomorrow. I decided to go darker the blonde was too hard to update so It's a light brown melt because I can't excatly get rid of the blonde. The best part is my extentions I got for my wedding totally match so I don't have to spend 100 dollars on clip in extentions.
Here is the 18 week update (bare with me it was taken with a iPhone)

Just a sore thought
Today I have to be nothing but grateful for such a beautiful family I have. I don't know what it is about creating life inside me but it sure changes your thoughts about life. Yesterday I had my 17 week check up and we get to find out what we are having next month!!! Such an amazingly humbled feeling I have that I have married someone who loves me and will do all he can just so I can have the things I need. I seem to be doing nothing but having sleepless nights from the amount of stress I get and having my face in the toilet 24/7 cause I can't seem to hold anything down these days. But just being with Travis and laying next to him and having long pillow talks about what we were like when we were young brings nothing but pure tears in my eyes. But seriously I can't even write this post without crying because I don't know what I ever did to make god love me the way he does but He must love me a lot to bring such a incredible man in my life. To my future wives find someone who knows your heart not see's your heart... well only 23 weeks left and it seems like each time monday roles around my heart has a sigh of relief because that is one less week till I get to meet this child inside.
"From our sorrow we might seek out the sweetness and the good that is often associated with and peculiar to our challenge. We can seek out those memorable moments that are frequently hidden by the pain and agony. we can find peace in extending ourselves to others, using our own experiences to provide hope and comfort. And we can always remember with great solemnity and gratitude him who suffered most to make it all right for us. and by so doing we can be strengthened to bear our burdens in peace. And then, the 'works of god' might be manifest."

Beauty with a twist
Yesterday at target the husband and I were looking for a good read so we wouldn't get bored down here in Saint George, Utah... oops I think I forgot to mention that we were headed this way for spring break! Anyways when we had passed the book section Travis immediately grabbed hunger games 3 (He loves those books) and to be completely honest I wasn't looking for a book because I don't read much as it is. But I came across this book... Lauren Conrad beauty, being a hair stylist I automatically turn to the word beauty. So this book was definitely a must.
|beauty|
1: the quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the sense of pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit: loveliness
2: a beautiful person or thing: especially: a beautiful women
3: a particularly graceful, ornamental, or excellent quality
4: a brilliant, extreme, or egregious example or instance<the mistake was a beauty>
- Merriam-Webster Dictionary
What an amazing book its been thus far, to be honest ever since I've been pregnant my self-esteem has not been what it usually is. I don't fit in any of my clothes and my hair just won't seem to work with me at all! I know boo-who right? but I think how important beauty is to every woman. At the beginning of her book she talks about how she use to have over processed hair and dark skin because thats what everyone else in southern California does, it took her till she was in her mid twenties to really find what made her feel most beautiful! What made me really think is when she said she tried a lot of different beauty experiments to find out what she was most comfortable in...
I was really frustrated in school once about a color that I just wanted to master and a instructor of mine had asked me a truly career changing question, She asked "what inspired you to become a hair stylist?". I thought about this question very deeply and my answer was people. I know it sounds cliche right? But I read all these blogs and I follow all these people on Instagram and pintrest and knowing I have the ability and knowledge to create something out of nothing its actually an amazing God given talent. When a person leaves my chair feeling like a million bucks is why I do what I do. I mean don't get me wrong money is nice but that is the last thing I think about as my client is leaving.
here are a few images of a basic french braid that is all connected at the bottom:
Something so simple and maybe even a little dumb makes me feel just a little bit daring! I am doing what Lauren said and expanding my knowledge and creating something new! (don't mind the first photo I tried to make it not photoshopped but that's what happens I guess) let me know what you all think & if you have read the book what were your favorite parts??

sunshine is in my soul
What a beautiful week its been and we are only two days in. I have been miserably sick like the rest of America (finally it's not sickness from pregnancy) I woke up in the middle of the night sunday and could not breath through my nose and my throat felt like a huge frog was in there. So I woke travis up (poor guy was up all night with me). We had church around 11 and I was way to sick to go! Our poor nursery kids depend on travis and I every sunday. Maybe because we might sneak them a couple more fruit snacks just to get them to stop crying.. WHO KNOWS.... Travis thought it would be a good idea for me to get some fresh air so I said lets get some snacks together and have a picnic and that indeed was what happened!!
Lunch menu:
3 sandwiches
2 chip bags
1 mason jar full of yummy pears
4 fruit snacks
3 string cheese
1 big water bottle that was poured into the cutest mason jar glass that we got from our wedding
You could say it was a real good time with the Johnson family. It was quit the weekend with Brian Regan and some yummy din din at city creek mall with my parents. Side note my belly is growing extremely fast! I feel like everyday this human gets bigger and bigger! It already weights 2 pounds and 1/2 a ounce (its about the size of apple) well thought I would update my friends.
(excuse the iPhone quality pictures and no make up!)
