What an amazing book its been thus far, to be honest ever since I've been pregnant my self-esteem has not been what it usually is. I don't fit in any of my clothes and my hair just won't seem to work with me at all! I know boo-who right? but I think how important beauty is to every woman. At the beginning of her book she talks about how she use to have over processed hair and dark skin because thats what everyone else in southern California does, it took her till she was in her mid twenties to really find what made her feel most beautiful! What made me really think is when she said she tried a lot of different beauty experiments to find out what she was most comfortable in...
I was really frustrated in school once about a color that I just wanted to master and a instructor of mine had asked me a truly career changing question, She asked "what inspired you to become a hair stylist?". I thought about this question very deeply and my answer was people. I know it sounds cliche right? But I read all these blogs and I follow all these people on Instagram and pintrest and knowing I have the ability and knowledge to create something out of nothing its actually an amazing God given talent. When a person leaves my chair feeling like a million bucks is why I do what I do. I mean don't get me wrong money is nice but that is the last thing I think about as my client is leaving.
here are a few images of a basic french braid that is all connected at the bottom:
Something so simple and maybe even a little dumb makes me feel just a little bit daring! I am doing what Lauren said and expanding my knowledge and creating something new! (don't mind the first photo I tried to make it not photoshopped but that's what happens I guess) let me know what you all think & if you have read the book what were your favorite parts??
