Alright much needed opinions from my fellow blogger friends, my future mommies, and my current mothers. Okay so I get that buying baby supplies should be easy but for me its so hard because I am extremely picky. I am not sure what I am having yet but that doesn't matter to me because I want to buy my supplies so I can use them for both boys and girls.( you know that I can use for my future children as well?) You know the whole metro thing or neutral... I want to keep it still for a good price. I have found some stuff that I love... What are some items and supplies you have bought and enjoyed?Where do you like to buy them? What are some unique baby items you've found that are a must need? Lastly what are your opinions on dipper bags that look super girly even if its a boy? please share??
Personally I don't care if the diaper bag is girly for a male child, a diaper bag becomes mom's purse so it can look however you want it too. As far as keeping things gender neutral goes I think that's a smart idea! Also, my sister in law who recently had a baby says the three things she couldn't live without for her wee one is her "Bumbo" (it's a chair thing for your kid, she said she bought a lot of brand ones that were cheaper but they just weren't as good), her "udder cover" and her diaper genie.
Also I know of a few sites that do make super cute stuff for free (all you do is pay shipping). Here are links to those items and the promo codes to use online.
The promo code for all three of these sites is: classybaby1 carseatcanopy.com nursingpillow.com uddercovers.com
The bigger the diaper bag the better! I thought mine was huge and its still filled it its limits. U can never have too many binkis cause some how they get lost so fast. I would get a pack n play instead of a bassinet, pack n plays u can fold up and take it with u , bassinets u cannot. Get lots of burp rags and blankets they spit up and pee on everything! I never used my boppy kinda a waste. I have handsanitizer in every room. Diaper jeanies are great make sure u have alot of refills. Dont get scented lotions and soaps until there older. Get a stroller and carseat combo super easy and convenient.
I don't have kids, but I've always thought the smartest idea was a stroller that can transform from holding a carseat, to holding a toddler. I'd spend the extra money on that!
I totally agree with everything Shayla said! The pack n play is amazing!!!! They even have some that come with a changing table and bassinet that are perfect for newborns! When you find a product you love, take the time to look around at prices. I found the stroller I loved at babies r us and Burlington had the same for half the price!!! If you plan on nursing and pumping... Don't buy a cheap pump. It's hard shelling out the big bucks for name brand but I promise you it is so worth it!! Compared to buying formula $200-$300 for a pump is nothing. I've really liked the johnson n johnson sleepytime baby wash and lotion, I totally think it works! A must for us starting out was swaddle blankets( but some babies don't like being tightly swaddled, so maybe start with one). You can buy the zip up kind on Amazon that are basically a baby cocoon. Personally, I think the diaper genies and wipe warmers are a waste of money. Gas drops are a lifesaver in the first few months. Desitine is by far my favorite diaper rash cream, but make sure it's the blue kind not the purple kind:)
I don't love my petunia bag. It's stiff and tall and hard to organize. They're more trendy than practical. Something I loooove is the rock and play soother... Best baby bed I've ever used. And I love wraps (like the Moby) over baby carriers and slings.
We just bought a bugaboo bee stroller and I am obsessed! I want the boon high chair as well but haven't done too much research on it. so super cute though! Your blog is adorable - love it! I love finding young moms :) madelineandtyler.blogspot.com
